Discrete RP groups with a parabolic generator
We deal with two-generator subgroups of PSL(2, C) with real traces of both generators and their commutator. We give discreteness criteria for these groups when at least one of the generators is parabolic. We also present a list of the corresponding orbifolds. متن کاملAll discrete RP groups with non-π-loxodromic generators
In this paper we give necessary and sufficient conditions for discreteness of a group generated by a hyperbolic element and an elliptic one of odd order with intersecting axes. This completes classification of the discrete groups with non-π-loxodromic generators in the class of twogenerator groups with real parameters. The criterion is given also as a list of all parameters that correspond to d...
متن کاملKleinian orbifolds uniformized by RP groups with an elliptic and a hyperbolic generator
This work is a part of a program to describe all 2–generator Kleinian groups with real parameters. We study RP groups, that is, marked 2–generator subgroups Γ = 〈f , g〉 of PSL(2,C) for which the generating pair (f , g) has real parameters β = β(f ) = tr 2f − 4, β′ = β(g) = tr 2g−4 and γ = γ(f , g) = tr [f , g]−2 (see Section 1 for exact definitions). Since discreteness questions were answered f...
متن کاملAll Discrete RP Groups Whose Generators have Real Traces
In this paper we give necessary and sufficient conditions for discreteness of a subgroup of PSL(2, C) generated by a hyperbolic element and an elliptic one of odd order with non-orthogonally intersecting axes. Thus we completely determine two-generator non-elementary Kleinian groups without invariant plane with real traces of the generators and their commutator. We also give a list of all param...
متن کاملA new positive definite semi-discrete mixed finite element solution for parabolic equations
In this paper, a positive definite semi-discrete mixed finite element method was presented for two-dimensional parabolic equations. In the new positive definite systems, the gradient equation and flux equations were separated from their scalar unknown equations. Also, the existence and uniqueness of the semi-discrete mixed finite element solutions were proven. Error estimates were also obtaine...
